I strongly advise all my students to commit to a 2-hour lesson per week, the minimum I would offer is 1.5 hours. The exception to this is for existing students who are test ready and waiting for their test, in these situations a 1-hour lesson can be provided. The core reason for this is that with a 1-hour session vs 2-hour sessions per week, I have found that the rate of progress is more than double in a 2-hour session. 2 hours allow you time to learn the basics of a skill and then practice that skill with plenty of time. In contrast, with 1 hour lessons by the time the basic skill has been taught the practice time is limited.

A mock test is a test that the driving instructor carries out. I use the same markings that the DVSA currently use and set out a mock test route incorporating what you may encounter on a test. Whilst the main goal is to pass the mock test the more important function is that it can highlight areas which may require more work. I always aim to do multiple mock tests in the lead-up to the practical so you can be confident going into the test.

If you hold an international driving licence (i.e. not issued in the UK), it will be valid for 12 months from when you enter the UK.
