Last weekend's course was dedicated to the memory of our great mentor and friend So-Shihan David Flaherty MBE.nAfter we gathered to train on the mats and celebrate what Sensei Dave loved - the fellowship, and the learning that comes with our art, not forgetting the lovely humour that he was known for - we had an intimate gathering of our Senior Coaches and students who wished to meet with our guests.nLovely tributes were read out and among them the letter from Shike Bertoletti, below. We learned much more about the talents of the great man, through the coaches who had worked with him the closest.nOne of the more unusual talents he had was poetry writing and he had had some books published. One of his poems was read out at the event, called 'Voices of Eternity.' nHe was one of those 'voices' and indomitable spirits that will carry on, through all the coaches he has taught and all the students he has mentored. nThank-you Sensei Dave for all that you have inspired in us.
