FAQs

Am I too old to start martial arts training?

Never too old. You'll see that each person in our class goes at their own pace, and we respect that. Your safety & enjoyment is paramount to us. Remember age is just a number.

Will I get hurt during the training?

With any contact sport the possibility of over doing it or trying to hard or even not warming up correctly could heighten the risk of injury but at Poole Ju jitsu our instructors pride them self on running safe, fun class. All our instructors hold coaching qualifications which have set standards which we adhere to.

What are the health requirements?

If you've walked in to the gym, your half way there. As long as you can move then you can do Ju jitsu, even if your in a wheelchair. The benefits of increasing your movement, raising your heart rate will improve your overall health.

How much time is needed to learn Ju jitsu?

Depends on your own social life, We have many members who train every session, some once a week and a few who are on shift work and train every other week. Getting in to a regular training habit will eventually reap the rewards sooner.

I'm worried about Covid-19, what procedures have you in place?

We've always have had a very high standard of hygiene at Poole Ju jitsu and pride our-self on setting standards. The pandemic has hit everyone hard, been a physical contact & social sport we have had to put more safety measures in please. We've implemented even more stringent measures to excel government guidelines. So you and everyone can remain safe and have peace of mind while training at Poole Ju jitsu.
