FAQs

Is the school wheelchair accessible?

Only if the student has got assistance from a helper because it is an old two floor building with steps on a steep hill. It is not possible for disabled children who use wheelchairs to access the classroom or other parts of the building without a helper.

What is the Mini Learners Supplement and why do I have to pay it?

The supplement is for students aged 7-10 and entitles them to the door to door taxi service to/from school and evening activities, extra supervision (in line with legal requirements) and one out-class per week which is teacher-led and to a place of educational and/or historical interest.

How do students get to North Devon?

We have a comprehensive and reliable travel and escort service. We can arrange for individuals to be met by our escort and taken to a mode of public transport, Country Cousins bus or arrange a private car. For groups, we can arrange an escort, coach and driver, and for any individuals or groups travelling on our specific dates we have coaches to the West Country and our escort service available.

Who will meet the students?

We have our own escorts at all airports. For private car and minibus journeys to smaller airports and London St Pancras the driver acts as an escort. At Heathrow we have escorts working at each terminal.

Is the Sunday morning meeting for new students important?

Very important! We have found that students who do not attend the Sunday morning meeting find their first few days of their visit very confusing without the information they would have been given in the Sunday meeting: Identity cards, their programme (timetable), a tour of the facilities, vital information about the school and Ilfracombe.

We do have more answers on the FAQ page on our website.

*Student Spotlight*nn#CELT student Andrea, from Italy, gave us a glowing account of his time here in #Cardiff - check out what he had to say below! í ¼í·®í ¼í·¹ nnI spent about three months in Cardiff, trying to improve my English with morning lessons. I met very good and kind teachers, always available to help you (thanks Simon and James, you are in my heart! <3 Simon, when will we go for the pigeons?) I also got to know students that made my stay an opportunity for meeting and friendship, going out together. í ¼í¿´íí±§íí±¢íí±·íí±¬íí±³íí±¿nnCardiff is a really quiet city, that is friendly and there are many activities that someone can do. The weather is very changeable but most of the time it rains, so umbrellas are your best friends! Beautiful trips are possible outside of the city centre, and it isn't difficult to find good and healthy food here. í ¼í½nnI lived near Bute Park, a huge green park in the middle of the city, where citizens and tourists go for walks or do sports. During spring time I discovered the park is covered with yellow daffodils and the trees put on a wonderful show! But pay attention when you are there, not to wake up the Draig Goch - the Red Dragon of Wales! ;) í ½í°² During my stay I met some really lovely people with whom I could even learn a bit of Welsh, the language of Wales!nnAndrea, Italy í ¼í·®í ¼í·¹nn#studyenglish #ingilizce #ingleÌs #inglese #angielski #ÎελÎÏηÎγγλικÏν #aprenderingles #вÑиÑианглÑйÑÑÐºÑ #å¸ç¿è±èª #ÐивÑайÑеанглÑйÑÑкÑÐ¼Ð¾Ð²Ñ #estudaringles #è±èªãåå¼·ãã #ingilizceöÄren #аÒÑлÑÑнÑÑлÑнүйÑÐµÐ½Ñ #studiareinglese #étudierlanglais #anglais #studioanglisht #à¹à¸£à¸µà¸¢à¸à¸ าษาà¸à¸±à¸à¸à¸¤à¸© #áá·áááá¶áá¶áá¶á¢ááááááá #Há»ctiếngAnh...
