Hypnosis can be defined as a condition of profound relaxation which you allow yourself to enter and during which time there is an altered state of conscious awareness. Hypnosis is a very pleasant state and in many ways is similar to meditation or deep relaxation. It involves nothing magical or mystical. In hypnosis the therapist and client work together allowing you to be more open to your unconscious mind, more creative, more open to change and better able to draw on your inner (sometimes unknown) resources of strength and problem solving abilities.

This is aimed at riders who enjoy competing and wish to be able to repeat under pressure what they know they can achieve at home in training. This approach helps you to recognise your strengths as a rider your and to build your self belief in order to be able to fulfil your riding goals.

Everyone is different, some people only need one or two sessions and others need more. The first session is always a consultation during which we can get to know each other and have an opportunity to ask lots of questions to try to get to the root of the issue(s). At the end of the consultation you will have an idea of how best to move forward.

I am not a trained riding instructor and therefore do not give technical riding advice. However, I am happy to work alongside your trainer if appropriate. Many sports people these days use some form of sport psychology to help with everything from anxiety to mental resilience and psychological strength and this is my area of expertise.
