FAQs

What ages do you work with?

I tutor children in Years 1 to 6. I am also very happy to continue working with children who have moved up to Year 7 and would still like some extra support in the transition.

What if we are late?

For bespoke 1:2:1 sessions, if you have not joined the session after 5 minutes of the start time I will contact you to remind you. The session will be kept open for a further 10 minutes after which it will be closed. If you join the session before it closes, the lost time will not be made up and the session will finish at the usual time. If you do not join the session in time, I will offer to reschedule it for a mutually convenient time. If this is not possible, the lesson has been missed and is non-refundable.

What if you cancel a lesson?

If I have to cancel a lesson, I will first offer to re-arrange for another mutually convenient time, or failing that will credit the lesson to the following month.

How long do you recommend a lesson should be?

This depends on the age of the child and their needs. As a general rule, children in Years 1-2 find 30 minute lessons enough. Some people choose to have two 30 minute lessons a week. For children in years 3 upwards, an hour a week works well. More sessions can be added depending on your needs.

Can you help?

No. I have no training or experience in Early Years (including YR). If you are looking for support for children in Year R, I recommend finding an Early Years specialist.
