Hello. Goodbye. Au revoir? Have you noticed the name change? Was ‘Kindermusik with Cath Smithson' York's best kept secret? Being awarded 'Top Program' status this year by Kindermusik, I was happy to be numbered again amongst the top 200 Kindermusik studios worldwide. 🤗The last two years of teaching during the pandemic have certainly been very different to my early years with York families. As many of you know, since Covid reached our shores, our music and movement classes have been based outdoors in York's parks, gardens and woodland. We've met in all weathers, laughing and learning together. A real community has been created. So what's next?💭 After almost 🥁🎶 20 years 🎶🎺of teaching the Kindermusik curricula, I have let go of their programme to go down another path. I am hoping to spread my wings and to work, not only with our very youngest music makers but also with our very oldest music makers – and everybody in between! In our increasingly diverse community, all deserve the chance to find their voice. Rest assured, I'm certainly not leaving town and am nowhere near retiring so please stay in touch. I always love to hear about former students, especially when they tell me that music is a central part of their lives.
