FAQs

Where is your studio?

Our brand new pottery studio is located at 160 Ravenscroft Road in Beckenham, nestled in a lovely residential street between Beckenham, BR3, and Penge, SE20. Our what 3 words are w3w.co/stir.shiny.rock

Do I have to bring my own apron?

We offer aprons for our stand-alone workshops and classes, but for those of you enrolling on a course, we ask you to bring your own with you, (any old thing will do!). This helps us to avoid unnecessary washing of aprons between classes, and therefore helps us minimise our environmental impact (think along the lines of using your towel for a few days on the trot when staying in a hotel). Washing and drying aprons after every use is unnecessary: once a term (to keep the clay dust to a minimum) will do just fine! Thank you for your co-operation :)

Is there a limit to the work I can make?

We have a finite amount of kiln space, and so offer a set number of pieces included with each course, to ensure we can facilitate everyones work. Each student can take one large piece (up to 20cm wide 30cm high), and otherwise we ask you to keep pieces below 15cm wide and 20cm tall. Before firing, clay is completely recyclable. We have an (almost) un-ending supply of clay for you to use, but we ask you to think carefully about the work you choose to fire to take home.
