The pottery classes are run from my loft studio in central Brighton (Hartington Rd, BN2 3PA). The classes are small, with no more than six people, and lots of one-to-one tuition (and tea!) All pottery classes are suitable for complete beginners and more experienced potters who wish to work on projects of their choosing. If you are a beginner, or are not confident to work more independently yet, the pottery course will take you through a series of projects which will introduce you to the fundamental principles of hand-building. You will explore pinch pots, coiling techniques, and will understand how to use soft and hard slabs. We will also introduce you to some decoration techniques. You will have opportunity to put your own creative stamp on these objects through surface design, pattern making, altering the form etc. so please don’t worry that it will be too prescriptive.
