Laura Spinney Yoga Pilates and Dance

I have suffered with back pain for many years, and also been recently experiencing stress related issues. I have tried every possible treatment but with no prolonged effect and I did not want to go down the medication route, so I went along to Laura's Yoga class. When I woke up the next day, it felt like the straight jacket I'd been wearing for years had been removed and I was free to stand up straight immediately, instead of the normal stooping and stiffness that I normally had when getting out of bed. I also noticed that over the next few weeks the stress related issues I had been suffering from seemed to have dissapeared and I feel more in control of these things. I did pregnancy yogalates class with Laura and have some the post natal mum and baby class too and I would recommend both!
The moves are really easy to follow and in her mum and baby classes she helps hold your little one if they are unsettled :)
She is highly knowledgeable about all things related to pregnancy and post birth exercise, and can adapt movements where necessary.
Laura makes everyone feel welcome and the classes are small compared with ones I have tried at leisure centres, so you have the chance to chat and get to know other people.
The classes provide just the right amount of challenge (with Laura providing different options to make things more difficult or easier) and I really am feeling the benefit of this weekly movement.
As someone that has not done a regular yoga/pilates class previously I was worried about how challenging it would be pregnant, but each week is varied and Laura offers alternatives for increasing difficulty or making adjustments for pregnancy related discomfort/difficulties.
What really convinced me to go to the mother and baby classes is that if my little one needs some extra attention and is a bit grumpy, Laura will happily take him in her arms and entertain him while I finish my movements.
I’ve been doing pregnancy yogalates with Laura for a couple of months now and it’s always a highlight of my week!
The exercises are great to help you rebuild your core strength, you can tell Laura is very knowledgable across postnatal exercises.
