Just stepping onto the matt’s is a brave thing. There were some amazing fights esp as, as always, some had to contend with sandbaggers. I will never have respect for any who are clearly in a division they should have left long ago. Sadly there’s nothing I can do to stop this. But at least mine can take heart from the fact they put in a strong performance against these guys and long term will be learning and developing a better game. I promoted two of mine today even tho one didn’t win - she’s now got enough matt time, made progress and had bloody guts to fight a girl bigger and a higher grade. Some Tags will also be given out in class. Attendance really is vital. Most of the young ones here barely train once a week (some missing for weeks at a time) - other sporting events, family celebrations, sleepovers or birthday parties. We’ve also just come back from holidays, only a couple of classes over the holidays, our least prepared entry.
