Best Martial Arts and Combat Sports Classes in Bristol

What is Aikido? What are the classes like? Is it hard? Does it hurt? Will I be the only beginner? Am I too old? Too young? Not fit enough? Can girls and boys do it?nnThought I'd create a post for those who visit our page thinking about starting......but find reasons for not training/starting.....or are just too worried to give it a trynI'll try and address some of the reasons and see if I can help you decide.nIf you have a reason or something that I've not listed ...please share it. Maybe there is a solution.nSeriously though.....just gve it a try.nQ. Is it hard? well...it can be technically challenging and no one is ever perfect so we all are learning all the time, With the right partner you can train in an aerobically challenging way with lots of exercise...but since all practice is collaborative you can train within your limits. nQ. Does it hurt? No. Mostly it feels great after training and is mentally & physically uplifting. It is exercise, there are throws so injuries may happen.....but these are extremely rare.nQ. Will I be the only beginner? Well....maybe.....maybe not. We are all learning and are just happy to have another training partner. So don't worry about this.nQ. Am I too old? Where there is a will.....there is a way. Currently our oldest students are in their 70s. Collaborative practice means you can work within your boundaries.nQ. I'm not fit enough? Aikido can get you fitter - as above, you can train at your level and no one minds.nQ. Can girls& boys do it? Absolutely. Some of our best students are boys! Aikido is not about using size or strength. In these times where Diversity awareness is everywhere Aikido seems the perfect art for all. Everyone Aikido will be unique to them and everyone has strengths that will enable them to train and in time excel.nQ. Is it expensive? No. Junior classes start from £17 per month. Adult classes are £25 per month and you can pay as you go to try a few.
