Stop Doing The Stuff You Hate… I was talking to a client yesterday who is trying to lose weight before they go on holiday. He’s got 8 weeks before going away and has decided to run 3 times a week (despite hating running), cut out all alcohol (despite the fact he loves it) and has gone on a crazy low-calorie diet (despite loving food). All of this sounds pretty crazy to me, I understand that he wants results, but doing stuff that you hate has a more negative effect long term than any positive it can do long term. If you hate running, don’t do it… There’s plenty of other ways to burn calories! If you hate going to the gym, don’t do it… There are other forms of exercise you can do! If you love having a drink, for goodness’ sake don’t ban yourself from having one… find ways of including it into your diet, it’s fine! You will only do the things you hate for a very short period of time. In that period of time you’ll be miserable and before long you’ll give up and be back at square one.
