What if I feel a little nervous?
Tell us! It is completely normal to feel nervous when starting something new and the gym can be even worse for many of us. Just let us know and we will make sure we look after you with a cup of coffee and a chat to start things off. Remember, everyone starts off as a newbie so you have nothing to worry about.
What is the best way to lose weight/fat?
Without getting in to the science too much, it is all about calories in vs calories out. In other words, the amount of food you eat compared to the amount you burn through exercise and every day functional will determine if you are gaining weight or losing weight. We have found that a mix of high intensity work (strike, bike, exert) with weights based sessions (lift, power, gym work) get great results and keep people motivated. Remember, if you are motivated to come, you are far more likely to build a habit.
Is there anywhere to get food and drink?
The gym reception has a vending machine where you can get water, sports drinks and snacks. We also have a large cafe where you can get get coffees, protein shakes, bagels and other snacks. Platinum members get 25% discount in the cafe.
