Here’s something that might help! 🤞🏻 I’ve been learning about Anchors recently and when incorporating them into my own practice I’ve felt much calmer knowing I don’t always need to focus on my breath to help me settle. Do you feel like you can’t always focus your attention on your breath, and get stressed when you feel like you physically can’t do it!? Keep reading! While I always take time to come back to the breath throughout my practice/when teaching, using the Anchors approach has definitely transformed my moments of stillness. Honestly, take 5 following this little guide: n✨ Get into a comfortable position for you - that might be seated, lying down, standing up - whatever makes you feel comfortable and supportedn✨ Settle into your chosen position and explore with eyes open, or eyes closed. Which feels most calming for you in the moment?n✨ Anchor 1: Sound. Start by noticing any sounds around you. Sit with these and let them bring you into the present moment. Stay here for a couple of minutes n✨ Anchor 2: The floor. Then move your attention to whichever body part is touching the floor. Keep drawing your attention back to this feeling of contact. Stay here for a couple of minutes n✨ Anchor 3: The breath. Then bring your attention to your breath, notice it moving in & out of the bodyn✨ You can then use any of these Anchors on their own, or as a combination to help guide you towards the present moment.
