Aside from Wednesday's weekly training session I attended an extra module which demonstrated the use of everyday objects to defend yourself ie Keys ,coins, liquids etc.
I have trained in other martial arts over the years, but I have to say that Krav Maga is the one I wish I had started with, because it is brutal, efficient and highly effective.
Learning simple methods for de-escalating conflict and practical techniques for defending yourself and your companions if necessary.
I thought I would be the only woman but surprised to see many others.

We have some good one-off training courses at weekends with some of the world's top instructors - and class socials.
I've never done any martial arts in my life before but when I joined the club I was welcomed by chief instructor Adrian ( one amongst a few in the UK with expert level in Krav Maga ) and Steve instructor (gives you not only physical part of it but psychology of victim and attacker behaviour) and that is when my journey to self confidence started.
They help prepare you for the physical and mental aspects of defending yourself in the street, which makes a noticeable impact even from your first session.
I had never even attended a gym before, so the warm up exercises are tough, but my fintess has increased, along with my confidence in being able to defend myself more effectively, and in general I feel.
