For 15 years I dreamed of living in a space where I could be with the sun at rise and fall. nnSome visions require us to play the long game. They require us to stay focused and to sit with discomfort for long periods knowing that whilst we are not where we want to be right now, we can find joy and gratitude in the present. Because after all, our next breath is never guaranteed. nAnd the long game we played, and where we thought we’d be fell through and distress, heartbreak, confusion and more discomfort was waiting for us with arms wide open. nnBut when you know, you know. nnWhen I stood in the garden of now our home I knew I would do absolutely anything to live here. nThe souls of my feet grew roots, and when I left I could think of nothing else but spending the rest of my life soaking in this sunset. nnFrom that moment it took another agonising 8 months to complete until I could stand here and call this little corner of the earth ours. nnFour years on, we’ve tackled, suffered, navigated and thrived through so much.nWe have sweat buckets and shed the same in tears and in the same breath found joy and laughter beyond measure. nnSuch is the ebb and the flow of life. It’s not a never ending summer, and what a bore if it was. nnToday I stand in my garden and reflect and I am proud. We still have so much more to make of our corner of this world. We are determined and focused.
